Overview:

The use of mass timber was a natural progression from the traditional timber framing used within the barn and Phase I addition. Root Architecture Inc. wanted to continue using exposed wood to fit with the aesthetic goals of the project, and to provide a more sustainable approach to the structural frame.

Green Gables Visitor Centre

 
 

Overview:

The Paul Reynolds Community Centre in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, is no ordinary recreation centre for the region. Featuring a six-lane lap pool, leisure pool, water slides, 622 sq. m [6,700-square feet] gymnasium, a daycare and seniors’ area – each 140 sq. m [1,500-square feet], an outdoor playground and other multi-use spaces.

Paul Reynolds Commuity Centre

Overview:

The Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre is a non-profit public educational centre located on the banks of the Manuels River, Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador. This 13000 ft2 state-of-the-art interpretation centre showcases internationally-recognized fossils and serves as a tourist attraction and economic driver within the community and neighboring areas.

The Villa Saint Joseph du Lac, is a 79 bed, long term care facility located in Dayton, Nova Scotia. The structure of this building is wood frame with post and beams elements.
