Commercial Wood Design
Tobiano Golf Clubhouse & Maintenance Building Kamloops, BC

Sited within the vast landscape, the design focuses on the use of natural materials to complement the natural surroundings. The design employs wood, stone and glass, while setting the language for the nearby Maintenance building. Fir is used structurally on the exterior, as posts, beams and roof purlins. It is also used as a cladding near the entrance, to negotiate the human scale. The post and beam structure continues into the interior of the building. Wood is used in the interior as a finish material to provide continuity with the structure and to bring warmth of wood to a human space.
Wood Materials used in the project are:
- Fir Horizontal Slats
- Fir Post & Beam
- Fir Roof Purlins & Rafters
- Fir Front Door
- Fir Bar
